Networking Pro-Tip: Skip the Dump + Drive
Don’t annoy your network with a one-and-done info drop.

If you’re blasting a note about your big news or new venture — and then vanishing — you’re not networking. You’re doing a drive-by.
Your network isn’t a bulletin board. It’s a relationship. And relationships need care — not just announcements.
That “Dump + Drive” networking approach shows up in mass BCC’d emails, vague “wanted to let you know” blasts, and updates with no follow-up or follow-thru. And it sends the message that you only reach out when you need or want your network to know something about you.
📌 Here’s the right networking move:
By all means share those updates, but bring your network on journey, don't just share the highlights. Ask yourself: how can I keep this conversation with my network going? Acknowledge the people who’ve helped you reach this milestone you're so damn excited about. Circle back with progress updates. Follow up with gratitude. Seek feedback to open the dialog to deeper connections.
Don't turn an update into an ending —when it has the potential of opening up your network so much more .
