From My Inbox: Systems for Success
Random thoughts (typically related to networking) along with 💩 curated from my inbox.

I'm emerging from hibernation.
The draft manuscript for my second book is (at the time of writing) in the hands of an editor, one who holds a right of first refusal. She may or may not love the manuscript. I can only wait and see.
And trust.
Trust in the publishing pitch process. Trust in the timing of when to pitch this book idea. Trust in the selection of editors to pitch. Trust in the feedback on the various iterations of my concept, and numerous draft manuscripts. Trust in the quiet I needed in order to write 60,000+ words.
Trust is foundational for my success.
If you've read my Seek Solitude post, you'll know that not resisting an overwhelming urge to tune out and turn off, was critical for more than doing the actual 'butt in seat, fingers on keyboard" work of writing. Now after a few weeks in the liminal space of "the manuscript is drafted, let's see" (mostly spent reading a lot of fiction, resuming something resembling a regular fitness routine, and listening to various BBC podcasts) I stare at the space on my calendar - an uncluttered slate on which to design future success - trusting I will choose wisely when selecting what gets added back in.
What nourishes your momentum?
🚀 For Women's Leadership Lab founder Joya, it's never doing strategic work and execution on the same day. It's holding her Sundays sacred to reflect on her business from a big, 10,000 foot perspective.
🚀 For Visionary Planning Coach, Peggy, entrepreneurial triumph comes from walking every damn day.
🚀 For playwright Sarah, it's pushing through the discomfort and rejections be damned! putting herself out there, constantly.
A career networking challenge for you this week: reflect on the systems (routines, practices, networks and connections, underlying values etc.) that fuel your success. How are you prioritizing what it is you uniquely, need?
