From My Inbox: Lists

Lists. Lists. Lists. The winners, as well as the game changers, ingredients and the banned. But let’s start with a list based on meaningful, objective criteria.

Each year, as it has done for the past 12 years, the Women In Law Empowerment Foundation (WILEF) announces its list of gold standard law firms. For those who care about women’s advancement up the workplace ranks, and equally care about working with entities that more than walk the talk about the contributions and value of women in leadership roles, this is a list worth paying attention to. WILEF doesn’t just hand out gold stars to any firm that feels it deserves one - their gold standard firms make the list because they have met objective criteria involving the number of women among equity partners, in firm leadership positions, and in the ranks of their most highly compensated partners. Read which firms made this list and about the rigorous criteria required to make this list, here.

Bayer Foundation Announces 15 Winners of Women’s Empowerment Awards. The 15 winners were selected based on social impact potential, alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and commitment to empowering communities. (Nation World News)

Stores selling candy, vapes and low-quality souvenirs - watch out - Westminster City Council is coming for you - when your lease is up! Yup, to inject vibrancy back onto Oxford Street, the council will be putting super prime, rent-free stores into the hands of the very best emerging startups and creatives. (Oxford Street Project)

Now onto resources for those who have made another kind of list…the banned or harassed list. The National Coalition Against Censorship has resources for authors of banned or challenged books. Whether you’re an author/writer/blogger or not, in this current digital climate PEN America’s Online Harassment Field Manual could be a resource you (unfortunately) need. Find toolkits to fight the campaign to ban books here and here.
